The Poetry Question

Discovering the Relevance of Words

Do You Haiku? -OR- 5/7…13?

Seeing as today

is an incomplete haiku

let’s 5-7 (5)

write your best haiku

(or maybe your favorite)

for all to enjoy

How to write haiku:

organize your words and thoughts

to 5/7/5

I have always had an affinity for the haiku form. I’m not sure why. I do know it can be fun to have entire conversations in Haiku… especially if you don’t tell anybody. Seeing as today is 5/7, let’s add the final 5 and have some fun writing Haiku. Anything brilliant will be praised and, perhaps, rewarded!

    Making my coffee
    I become rebellious.
    Screw the damn filter.

      Very nice haiku!
      my love for morning coffee
      negates rebellion.

    The sub spilled coffee,
    so now I’m stuck covering,
    instead of napping.

      coffee- so precious
      a spill is not permitted;
      I am not BP.

    Why yes- I Haiku.
    Penning my wishes and dreams-
    Meanwhile, they all sleep.

The raindrops fell from the clouds
    Beautiful inside itself
    It’s spring time again.
