The Poetry Question

Discovering the Relevance of Words

Best of The Day – May 23rd

Caesar Delaney
“My Mother Always Wanted”

My mother always wanted for everything to go her way
This includes me doing the right thing

My mother always wanted me to have the best
So she slaved at work and still came home to fix me a warm meal

My mother always wanted my dad in my life
But he never stepped up and owned his part of the creation

My mother always wanted nice things
So now it’s my time to give back for everything
