I wish my love of food didn’t expand my waistline.
I wish that I could live careless and free like a child, but without parental restraint.
I wish cigarettes and coffee wouldn’t stain my teeth, or that I wasn’t so dependant upon them.
    I wish love came easily.

    i wish education was over.
i wish i could move on to some kind of trait that improves my standard of living.
i wish the world was just an treat individuals like true individuals instead of “the same”.
i wish the path to success lay painted with signs to guide rather than digging for your future.

I wish you would look at me without glaring in hate.
I wish you would smile at me with humor in your heart.
I wish you would hug me, tell me that you care.
I wish you would notice me, at least a kind passing word.

I wish everyone else could get their wishes, even if I couldn’t get mine, because I’m just one person. There are so many people out there that wish of things so much more desperately and fantastically than I do, and I’d like them to get their wishes. I would sacrifice my wishes so they could get theirs if I could.

I wish that every mistake disappears over a set amount of time
I wish love could triumph over every barracade faced
I wish that humans had wings, so lovers could fly away together
I wish my pointless words could change this convoluted world

I chose Brandon’s piece for the “Best of” section.
I particularly enjoy and appreciate the final line as it is not only a shared sentiment, but also reminds me of Dead Poet’s Society: “No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”

I also appreciate the first line, particularly that the grammar needs cleaning and, perhaps, it contains a mistake… one that will disappear over time…

    I wish I could breath,
I wish that my dad wouldn’t hover,
    I wish I could believe,
I wish that my fantasy would be my reality,

    I wish cancer didn’t exist, and that my Grandma didn’t have to suffer;
I wish that Grandpa would accept that she’s dying and not run away from it every chance he gets.
I wish time could go backwards so I could take back the cruel things I’ve said,
and I wish I could’ve told people how I really felt.
I wish I could go back and tell myself that goodbye is a second chance,
and I wish I could have let myself cry in all the times I held it inside.
I wish that I could know then what I know now,
and I wish I knew why I am alive today when I should have died when I was born.
