The Poetry Question

Discovering the Relevance of Words

The Daily Prompt – August 1 – Ramble On

1. Use the prompt in the way it’s intended (starting a sentence, the title of the piece, theme, etc)

2. You may write in any format you see fit (fiction, non-fiction, poem, song, script, etc.)

3. Post your piece of writing in the comments section of the website to be considered for the ‘Best Of’ section.

Grab a timer, set it for 3 minutes, and write your rambling autobiography. It does not have to go in any order, simply write the lines that enter your mind, in whatever order they may enter. This one is all about you!

I went to a Reiki Master (whatever the hell that is) and he asked me, “What are you trying to prove to the world?” Apparently my energy field is macho, too.

“Ummm…that in spite of two failed marriages at 30 years old, I am not totally defective?”

“Is that a question or an answer?”

    (F*@k him, by the way.)

“Everybody likes you. Even your ex-husbands like you!” That’s what a friend told me last month.

“You are one of the most popular people in this city.” My other friend said yesterday.

    Maybe that’s my problem.

TIME’S UP (no resolution, as usual)

(F*@k this prompt, by the way.)

I was a boy scout, an eagle, got tossed out of school. Only a fool would mix emo with with glam rock and acid with whippit shots. I get livid about perverts and crackheads and backwards attacks on blacks .. but thats not the topic–I went to AA, but I’m not alcoholic. I hate politics I’m chronically impolitic I’m capital but not capitalistic I just call it like I follow that crap. I live in the dessert, eat shit, dehydrate, my eyes dilate as fast as my poetry makes shadows pass
