The Daily Prompt – August 12th


1. Use the prompt in the way it’s intended (starting a sentence, the title of the piece, theme, etc)

2. You may write in any format you see fit (fiction, non-fiction, poem, song, script, etc.)

3. Post your piece of writing in the comments section of the website to be considered for the ‘Best Of’ section.

The Prompt:
Voice – write a letter, note, poem, or short story as a kid (10 or younger).

    I am new: baby blue sees.
    I see you, and my two blue eyes
    constantly renew, and see
    too clearly to be fooled by
    brown tones and key-tooling.

    [Octaves are from God
    so don’t F*ck with me while I grow up.]

    You speak but do not mean.
    You divine static screens to
    insulate dreams, to remind
    you of baby blue scenarios–
    scenes, flashing by like revelations:

    Baby blue eyes see deep
    and wide, and they see me more than me.
