The Poetry Question

Discovering the Relevance of Words

The Daily Prompt – August 22 – Remember that story about that one time…

Rules:

1. Use the prompt in the way it’s intended (starting a sentence, the title of the piece, theme, etc)

3. Post your piece of writing in the comments section of the website to be considered for the ‘Best Of’ section.

The Prompt:

I don’t know about any of you, but I absolutely despise when someone starts out a sentence with “Remember that story about that one time…” and then goes on and on and on about something that absolutely no one remembers.

So, by all means, let’s hear your best “Remember that story about that one time…” stories.

Remember that story about that one time…
When we climb the sacred cheery tree
and argued about fitting on the big branch
but as Sunny sat last we heard a low creak
that poor limb gave way to a kid avalanche?

Remember that story about that one time…
We did reenacted the Soul Train line
in Gramps basement-one at a time
I attempted a back flip, broke the table
blamed the baby with a creative fable?

Remember that story about that one time…
When we were at that one place
    with you-know-who from who-knows-where
and we did that one thing
that caused us to giggle, snort, cry, laugh and swear?
