The Daily Prompt- August 29th

Rules:

1. Use the prompt in the way it’s intended (starting a sentence, the title of the piece, theme, etc)

2. You may write in any format you see fit (fiction, non-fiction, poem, song, script, etc.)

3. Post your piece of writing in the comments section of the website to be considered for the ‘Best Of’ section.

The Prompt: 

Grab the nearest book or magazine, flip it open at random and write something based on the first sentence your eyes find.

    I was actually talking about something along these lines the other day. I’m 32-years-old, and I’ve never been in a fight. I’ve never been punched, thrown a punch, been squared up upon, or really even put into a situation where it was a possibility. Once, when I was 16, a former friend of mine decided he wanted to fight me, but all he did was kick me in the shin, and run away, so I don’t count that as anything. I have been hit in the head with a baseball before, so I’ll assume that felt just as bad as a punch might feel. I can’t say that I’m missing out on anything. I’m not generally an angry enough person to long for a fight, and I feel as if I’m good enough with my words to stop a fight from happening. Hopefully that continues.
