The Poetry Question

Discovering the Relevance of Words

Goodnight Mr. Heaney

Waking up to find that Seamus Heaney has passed away is incredibly difficult for me. Heaney was one of the first major 20th century poets with whom I fell in love. His ability to be as honest as Blake, and yet as poetic as Keats and Yeats was unmatched. His version of Beowulf will never be equaled. Thank you Mr. Heaney for your words, and today, we will raise a drink in your name.
