The Daily Prompt – September 10 – Observational Poetry

Rules:

1. Use the prompt in the way it’s intended (starting a sentence, the title of the piece, theme, etc)

2. You may write in any format you see fit (fiction, non-fiction, poem, song, script, etc.)

3. Post your piece of writing in the comments section of the website to be considered for the ‘Best Of’ section.

 

The Prompt-

Take a moment to look around your current surrounds. Select one object or person, and write an 8 line poem about what you see.

Chris Margolin spent more than a decade in Education as a high school English teacher, and is now an Instructional Coach for the Longview School District. He is also the founder of The Poetry Question, an online journal which focuses on reviews of small press poetry publications, and runs a regular series called "The Power of Poetry," where notable poets share their personal stories of how poetry has affected their lives. Margolin resides in Vancouver, Washington with his wife, and daughter.

    as i look around i see my tv
    my Tv has the la dodger game on espn
    the dodgers are loseing 2 zip
    oh well the magic number still is 5 games
    the penet is up for grabs
    and i pray my blue crew can capture all its glory
    and win the october classic the wrold series

    phone, you help me when I need you.
    even though your not in service, it my fault im sorry.
    I look at you and use you for music, videos and games.
    I use you for the alarm to wake me up in the mornings
    phone, I do my best to not use you, but sometimes I feel that I need you.
    you are awesome.
    thank your for being there with me when I needed you.
    you will continue to be there to give me a helping hand when I need to contact someone.
