My mother always wanted to command
She wanted to have the upper hand
For everyone to meet all her demands
to march to the drummers of her band
to be highest ruler in all the land
to control the speed of the hourglass sand
to gloat and say it wall all her plan
My mother always wanted to be better than.

    My mother always wanted
    a mansion and a yacht.
    Her baby-boomer Aquarian ways
    were very soon forgot.

Her ladies rooms all have bedays,
and all I want to say
is her Mercedes stops at boutique shops
for healing crystals like it’s still Woodstock.

    My mother always wanted
to be the best she can
    she even married “her” man
when she was young she wanted to travel
when she did she went far across the gravel
she always have loved to do her art
and her husband is the only one that owns her heart
