…And I look at it with a deep curiosity. I shift the box around, noting the object inside is very heavy. I look up to question the child, but the trick-or-treater is gone. I bring it inside, not quite sure of you should open it. Who would just hand a box to a complete stranger? And what is the motive behind the child? I’m not sure, and I don’t know if I actually want to know the motive. I start shaking the box, and I swear i could hear something mechanical whirring away inside the box. My parents come back from going out with friends, and see me staring at the box. “What’s that?” my mother asks.
“I don’t know. A kid in a ghost costume dropped it off earlier.”
    “Why don’t you open it?”
“I don’t really want to. Doesn’t it seem strange some kid would just hand this to me?” I make it a point to leave out that the child disappeared, not wanting to seem crazy.
“Alright, just know if you don’t open it soon, i will. You know i can’t handle suspense.”
I and my parents just sit and watch TV, eating dinner that my dad made. Kraft Mac & Cheese. Not any different than usual though, it’s our lazy food. After we finish dinner, i start thinking about the box. What if there’s something really nice in it? I decide it’s now or never, and grab the box.
“Are you going to open it?!” my mother asks with anticipation, already on her way to sit next to me.
    “About time.” replies my dad.
I slowly lift the lid off of the box, the friction trying to stop me. When i open it, me and my mom just stare at the contents of it. It’s a hand, with a watch and a wedding ring on it. I drop the box in horror. I look at my Mom, and see her staring at my dad. It was then that I realized the watch and ring looked really familiar. It was my Dad’s. I look at his hand, expecting the worse, but there was no missing limb, a full hand with the watch and ring on it. That was when I saw his eyes. Completely black.
“You know, you really should be careful of strangers…”

The lone trick or treater hands you a paper that says your “going to die” you panic and look up, and realized this trick or treater in the outfit had vanished in to thin air! Through out the next week or two your house has been feeling weird, odd things like creaking and feeling as if something is creeping up on you only to realize your house is fine… For all you know…. A few days later you move out and live with some friends and a few Roomates and you go to take a shower and the water becomes a watery blood spraying at you, with terror and scream as if your best friend has been brutally beaten, there blood splattered all over the wall!
