The Daily Prompt – November 20 – Running Behind


1. Use the prompt in the way it’s intended (starting a sentence, the title of the piece, theme, etc)

2. You may write in any format you see fit (fiction, non-fiction, poem, song, script, etc.)

3. Post your piece of writing in the comments section of the website to be considered for the ‘Best Of’ section.

The Prompt-

You roll over, and realize your alarm was never set. You’re already 14 minutes late to your morning meeting. You quickly grab your phone to call your boss. What is the conversation?

He is also the founder of The Poetry Question, an online journal which focuses on reviews of small press poetry publications, and runs a regular series called "The Power of Poetry," where notable poets share their personal stories of how poetry has affected their lives.     “A little Matrix excuse”

    I was there, sir!
    Fine then…don’t believe me.
    Three agents from another agency
    were chasing me
    and invading my peace!
    Made me do cubicle crouch moves,
    on the scaffold I squealed like a lady.
    I swear to god dude
    you just didn’t see me!
