I’m a Miles Davis guy when writing, and DJ Shadow guy when editing.

JG that would’ve been my Q too. O, I cannot seem find that lonely road where writing ends and editing begins. Or where editing ends. Hell I go back days, weeks, even months after publishing in WordPress and tweak. And like a typical sock-shoe-sock-shoe guy, I may write a stanza, perfect it to taste, then go on to write the Bard’s share of the poem in increments.

I have written a ffew longer, complex poems with virtually no content editing, but those instances are little gifts from the gods, and rare. My editing stage cant be pinpointed. Damn what was the question…Oh yeah: just about any music containing emo/aggressive undertones. From The Cure to certain Strange Famous Records talents, to a folk band of 1969 Messianic Jews strumming guitars to the Psalms. (The Messianic group, Lamb.. trippy “music to supplicate by”. BTW—if Sage Francis ever comes asking, I did NOT call him emo).

Was this the prompt or the QoTD?

I’ll listen to Trocadero or songs from Fallout 3 while writing, and “This Will be the Day” from the RWBY soundtrack while editing. Though the two are interchangeable. If I’m writing like, an important or epic scene, I’ll turn on “It’s a good day to Die” from Starship Troopers 3.

I like listening to sad music. I really like listening to “Say Something” because it’s sad which helps me.
