The Poetry Question

Discovering the Relevance of Words

QOTD – ‘Chu Like?

I’ve been thinking about how to ask this eloquently, but I don’t think I can.

I’ve been contemplating how to turn this into a few hundreds word.

Then I thought, “Why should I?”

My favorite poem is The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock.

Why? I too have momentary terrors of eating stone fruits.

My favorite form is The Haiku because I enjoy brevity.

Realistically, though, lyricists are my favorite poets.

QOTD – What do you like about poetry?

I like the face that you can use poetry to achieve a deeper understanding of something. Or how that one line in a poem sticks out to you and you remember it forever.

I love the ability to paint pictures with very few words. I particularly love haiku because of the wonderful tension some people manage to create with the form. (I don’t think I’ve expressed this very well !)

I like how you can do virtually anything wiht poetry. You can paint pictures or give off powerful emotions with vaery few words or a lot of words. And that nobody will judge you for what you say cause its what you think.

What i like about poetry is that there are different types of poems out there. Like, funny, sad, love, happy and they’re all interesting. Every time i read a poem i could feel that the person who wrote that is telling they’re feelings through the poem.

Poetry is not an important thing for me because it’s not in anything i do especially in the music i listen to. so there for there is nothing i can say about poetry that is positive.

Poetry to me is like music. It is apart of everyones lives, everyday. Poetry has a way of being 100 percent feelings and it always brings up a new perspective. It’s kind of like music simple because someone wrote it and had the feelings and thoughts of what was written. It was just in different ways. I love poetry.

The thing I like about poetry is that you can express yourself in any way you like. The fact that behind your poetry is a story weather its sad or happy or heart breaking. You can let your true feelings seep through your heart onto the paper. We feel the pain or happiness shown through the poetry. I just personaly love poetry because there is always a true story behind writing.

I LOVE poetry; it’s a way of expressing emotions and how you feel. Behind every poem there is always a story beneath. That often has a significant meaning.
