QOTD – Power Rankings – Your Top Five

I was listening to TBD in the AM on CBS Sports radio this morning on my drive in to work.  I do this a lot.

I used to listen to NPR most morning, but lately I prefer the mindlessness of sports talk.

It is not uncommon on sports talk to “Power Rank” teams or players.  The talking heads will come up with some fancy rationale or pretend criteria, but it really comes down to asking which ones are your favorites.  Choose your top five.

This morning, their talk digressed into sports movies and they played  quick top-five (though, only actually listed about three movies before getting distracted).  This made me start thinking about my top five sports movies.

  • Remember the Titans
  • Major League
  • Necessary Roughness
  • The Replacements
  • The Sandlot

I will freely admit this is subject to change.  Ask me next week and Rocky, Rocky III, and Rocky IV all belong on the list.  I’m not even a huge baseball fan, but they do make fantastic movies.  How could I leave Hoosiers off that list?

Today, let’s play our first round of TOP FIVE.

List your Top Five Books of “Right Now”.  That doesn’t mean the books need to be contemporary rather than classic, that means I’m asking you to list your top five books RIGHT NOW.  Your answer may have been different ten years ago and may change if you were asked next week.  (For today’s purposes you cannot cheat and list a series as a book.  Commit.)

QOTD – What are your Top Five Books?
