When you sleep, you are not just overtaken by darkness
Your mind is freed from the shackles of reality.
It has a few hours to do whatever it pleases.
It drifts through the verse, searching for anything.
We sometimes visualize it in dreams
But the mind wishes to keep its adventures secret
    So we forget them.
We cannot tell exactly where our mind has been once it has been freed from us, for however long that may be
All we know us that it went somewhere, and did something, before returning to us.

When you sleep, you dream a dream in time gone by when hopes were high and life worth living.

When you sleep, you dream that dreamers often lie
(in bed asleep while they do dream things true)

When you sleep perchance to Dream; Aye, there’s the rub,
For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
    Must give us pause.
