#TPQ5: DECEMBER LACE

Edgar Allan Poe

I’ve always loved how Poe lorded over the shadowed spectrum of literature with tales so hauntingly dark and different that they’re still talked about decades later. His heartbreaking poetry about death taking away the one you love, though, is what really captivates me.

Richard Matheson

His works on time travel, love conquering all obstacles, and soulmates surpassing death keep me believing in miracles. He’s also a master in horror and wrote a lot of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes- talk about versatility.

Stephanie Garber

I couldn’t pick one of her Caraval books as a favorite from her fun, magical trilogy of the same name, so here we are. Decadent descriptions, fantastic characters, and creative places make me wish the games would continue forever in her vibrant and deceptive world.

Edward Gorey

I was introduced at seven years of age and have been a die-hard fan ever since.

Jenna Velez

This up and coming poet has me cancelling all plans to read what she’s written and savor her gorgeous word choices. Her deep, beautiful works of love and pain leave me spellbound.
