REPLAYS: “LOVE ME LIKE YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME” – KYLE

Love Me Like You Say You Love Me (inspired by the song of the same name)

Can’t explain why I lose feelings

When you wasn’t ready and willing

Love me like you say you love me

Or quit playing games

If I wanted that I’d date me a summer walker

but I know it’s not the same

You wanted to be a hot girl

So go heat up the summer

Got caught up with a sneak link

Now you never looked more dumber

And you wanted me to be caught up too

Barking up the wrong tree, not enough lumber

Should’ve learned to love me

By asking questions

Instead of taking my actions for granted

And second guessing

My motives

My intentions

Love wouldn’t have had dimensions

Now look at what you been missing

Nowadays, we’ve begun to see a lot more artists going independent instead of signing to major record labels. The artistic freedom has proven to be beneficial to many and has propelled them to new heights. This next artist just announced last week that he has officially gone independent and is back with brand new music to accompany the announcement.

California rapper, KYLE has been in the music scene for almost ten years. He first came onto the scene in 2009 with the release of several mixtapes. In 2013, he released his debut commercial project, Beautiful Loser which sparked his hit ‘Keepin It Real’. California natives Kehlani & G-Eazy were among the first to collaborate with him. He found Billboard success a few years later with the release of 2016 hit single, ‘I Spy’ featuring Lil Yachty. With the song’s praise, he signed with Atlantic records and would go on to release two albums with them. He returned to social media last week and announced his new single, ‘Love Me Like You Say You Love Me’.

From first glance, listeners will be able to relate with the subject matter on the melodic track. This sound is a departure for KYLE as he shows versatility by singing more fitting the track’s vibe. The track speaks of finding self-worth and self-love as he depicts in his lyrics, something I find to discuss more in my writing. I’m happy for KYLE to see him take his music career into his own hands and have the artistic freedoms at his disposal. I’m interested to see what’s next for the artist. He’s been an underrated artist for quite some time and hopefully this will propel him in the direction best for him. You can download the single now on all music streaming platforms.
