REPLAYS: SACRIFICE – THE WEEKND

SACRIFICE (inspired by the song of the same name)

It’s cold outside now

But with you, ain’t never been colder

And I didn’t realize it then

Til I got a little older

Got a little bolder

Had to keep moving the boulder

Capitalize, emphasize my actions

Yeah they getting bolder

Sacrifice

The only thing you gave up was my time

You wouldn’t change it for nothing

Not even at the drop of a dime

Penny for your thoughts

What were you thinking

Build you a little bitch

To play with

Good riddance

You set the bar so low

So I started my sentence

And then turned them into stanzas

My emotions were endless

I don’t want to sacrifice

Anymore time

Because you are all in my memories

And the good that came from it was of you leaving me

Happy New Year everyone! With a new year, we expect to have a lot of new music from your favorite artists – new and old. The first to come out this week comes from none other than XO crooner, The Weeknd who surprise-dropped his latest album, Dawn FM over the weekend. One of the most talked about tracks from the project is his latest single, Sacrifice.

The Weeknd has developed a formula of being able to discuss personal relationships and experiences so effortlessly in his catalogue of releases. This time, he reinvents the sounds from the late 70s and 80s to create a groovy tune for any fan of the Toronto artist to admire. From the first listen, I was able to recall my own personal situations and relate to the emotions of The Weeknd that he brings to the track. Fans will enjoy the new sound from The Weeknd, as it is unlike any of his previous works.
