REPLAYS: LITTLE STORY – KEHLANI

LITTLE STORY

(inspired by the song of the same name)

Rippled pages

Thumbing through these leaflets

Like I’m counting $20s

$50s $100s

Word count dancing through my mind

Always on the run and

Running and running

Always make a clean getaway

The nightmare is when all the magic stops

Boogeyman syndrome, stay away

Stimulated from the tip to of my fingers

Til the creases of your lips

These moments have rarely

But when our suns and moons eclipse

It’s more than a nice spatial event

Even bigger than the astrology

This cancer’s #1 priority

Finding monogamy

We could barking up the right trees

Built like mahogany

Our branches extend to us in open arms

In harmony

Every story has a nice soundtrack

Sounds like the right tempo

I must’ve put you on the right track

If I had only one night

I wish I could have the night back

And wish over and over again

To relive that nightcap

Kehlani has become a household name over the last few years. Known for her vulnerability in her songs, I’m glad to see the growth over the years. This past week, she released her new single, little story, set to appear on her upcoming album, blue water road

The guitar-driven track is just another example of the artist pouring all of her emotions into her craft, a feeling creatives aim to emulate in their own work as I do mine.
