NATURALLY
(inspired by the song of the same name)
Naturally
I would be writing sweet nothings
Over nothing
And then I could hear you say
That I’m up to something
Love been on a high
And you feel like it’s been drugging
Oops I mean dragging
When did it start to feel so low
Wait a minute
What’s happened
I could see the ecstasy
It was me and your right next to me
Each day you’d be texting me
Until you sent that text to me
Naturally
My emotions were bound to react
Naturally
My defenses were feeling under attack
And once it set in, now I have to get you back
Since there’s no point of return
I’m not getting you back
Naturally
I want you to feel what I feel
Naturally
My heart will bruise before it begins to heal
Naturally
I wanted to know that this was real
And I can say that after all this time
That cut still on you hasn’t sealed
You know it comes naturally
That I still find words
To discuss past situations
When I still get the urge
Discussing you only as nouns
When the actions made you a verb
No review of you in my book
I’ll just remember you as blurb
Tinashe’s career as an independent artist continues to blossom. Just last year, she released her critically acclaimed album, 333, and last week she returned with the deluxe version. One of the four new songs featured on the project is her new single, Naturally. The use of her angelic voice to compliment various sounds exemplifies her ability to be one of today’s eccentric stars.
